bread pudding with vanilla


 

Old fashioned bread pudding with vanilla sauce








*ingredients




°250ml (2 cups) milk


°60ml (1/4 cup) butter or margarine


°2 eggs slightly beaten


°125ml (12 cups) sugar


°5ml (1 t) ground cinnamon or nutmeg


°1 ml (1/4 t) salt


°6 cups (1.5 l) soft bread cubes (about 6 slice of bread)


°125ml (12 c) raisins, to taste


°Whipped cream (heavy) to taste


 


*Directions




1- Preheat oven 175°C (350°F). In a 2-quart (1.9-quart) saucepan, heat the milk and butter over medium heat until the butter melts and the milk is hot.


2- In bowl, mix eggs, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add the bread cubes and raisins, stirring. stir into milk mixture. Pour to a deep, ungreased frying pan.


3- Bake, uncovered, for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 1 inch from the edge of the pan comes out clean. Serving warm with whip cream
