°1 cup uncooked oats (quick or plain, I used oat flakes)

°1 1/4 cup boiling water

°1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup ghee

°1 cup granulated sugar

°1 teaspoon vanilla

°2 eggs

°1 1/2 cups flour

°1 teaspoon baking soda

°1/2 teaspoon salt

°3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

°1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


  °1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup melted ghee

°1/2 cup brown sugar

°3 tablespoons cream or 3 tablespoons milk

°3/4 cup shredded coconut

°1/3 c chop nut

* Methods

In shallow bowl, soak oats in boil water for 21 min.

Meanwhile, measure the butter and sugars into the mixing bowl and whisk until light.

Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Sift the flour, measure the flour, sift again with soda and spices.

By this time oats will have soak & cooled.

Removing beaters from cream mixture & fold in soaked oats.

Sift the flour mixture and stir.

Flip into a greased 9×9 skillet and bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes.

Mix all decorating ingredients.

Do not remove the cake from the pan but while it is still hot top it and place it under the grill until it bubbles and becomes golden.

Watch carefully.
